MARK: Here’s the masthead.
EDUARDO: You made a masthead?
MARK: Yeah.
EDUARDO: Eduardo Saverin, co-founder and CFO.
MARK: Yeah.
EDUARDO: You have no idea what that’s going to mean to my father.
MARK: Sure I do.Oh my god, so let’s talk about this. Mark understands Wardo’s deep-rooted daddy issues—Wardo has no logical reason to feel so insecure about his accomplishments (because, objectively, they rank pretty high), but Mark knows he does. I can’t imagine he’d even bother making a masthead otherwise, considering that his name is on every page anyway. He cares, you guys, he really does.

SEAN: You all right?
MARK: You were kind of rough on him.
SEAN: That’s life in the NFL.
MARK: You know you didn’t have to be that rough on him.
SEAN: Listen, I’m putting together a—
MARK: Sean! You didn’t have to be that rough on him.I know the “condescending question” speech will be the one played when Jesse inevitably wins all the awards, but his performance during and after the breakup scene is really what sold me on Mark. It’s clear he feels like total shit. He doesn’t go to the party, he doesn’t even look like he’s doing work… he’s just sitting there, thinking about everything. Not only does he care about Eduardo’s friendship, but he cares about the company. The way his voice breaks when he says “shit” after he finds out Sean has embarrassed the company kills me. His eyes are red and he’s literally shaking when he’s on the phone. He’s such a complex character and it really bothers me when people try to dismiss him as an ungrateful asshole.

MARK: Well, you gotta come back. Somewhere around the end of November, early December, Peter wants to throw us an amazing party when we hit a million members. It’s gonna be out of control, you gotta come back for it.
EDUARDO: A million members.
MARK: Yeah.
EDUARDO: Remember the algorithm on the window at Kirkland?
Mark: Yeah.Things have been rough, but Mark’s glad everything’s working itself out and he’s going to miss Wardo these next few months. They built this thing together and he’s so proud of them.
